Embodiment Tips

The first quarter of the year is coming to a close. I know 😳 what is happening with time?! But if you can remember back to January, I shared with you the process of choosing a word of the year, along with my 2023 word: Embodiment. 

The last three months have been an amazing (and wild!) ride, so I'm excited to give you the behind-the-scenes on some of the embodiment practices I’ve been incorporating:

  • Body Check-ins: It was only recently that I realized I have been unconsciously keeping tension in my body. Yep, squeezing, flexing, tightening, different parts throughout the day (shoulders, glutes, belly). You can only imagine the havoc this can wreak on your nervous system and physical body. Adding in an AM, PM and Mid-Day body scan has been a perfect reminder to take a few deep breaths, check head to toe for anything I’m holding tightly and gently release.

  • Emotional Awareness: Paying more attention to what I am feeling has increased my time spent in the present moment meaning less energy looking back or forward (always a good thing). Learning what external or internal force is fueling that emotion and what its presence is trying to teach me about my current need state is pretty freaking powerful. Remember, awareness without judgment is key to allowing our self-love and acceptance to really flourish. 

  • Intention Setting: Spending time thinking about what I truly want and getting down to the essence of what that means in my life has been so powerful. It’s enabled me to be vulnerable in sharing what I want to call in and take more action to make that come to life. Plus, I’ve gotten more comfortable sitting in the desired place when it does manifest…and it does more easily than ever before!

Embodiment is feeling more fully into presence, making things more tangible. A perfect balance when we spend too much time living in our head, not grounding into our body. 

One way I’ve been expressing embodiment is through my new Energy Art offering. In this incredible new mashup of self-discovery, energy healing and art, you receive a visual embodiment of your energy, seen below in some recent client examples.

Spring Rituals

This week marked the first official day of Spring for North America, ushered in by the vernal equinox and the sun heading back north across the equator. Spring energy is palpable, when everything starts blooming and life seems to majorly speed up, for better or worse!

Here are some fun ways to harness the blissful Spring energy, while increasing your mindfulness and connection to our beautiful planet.

  • Take a rainbow walk. This is a perfect way to enjoy the warmer weather, while moving your body and increasing attention to the present moment. During a walk around your neighborhood or local park, look around for all of the colors of the rainbow. You’ll find an incredible variety of photo-worthy hues in the blooms, leaves, sun, sky and more!

  • Infuse your water and food. Spring is all about transformation and growth and one of the best ways to embody this is with intention setting. Before each meal, take a moment to think about what would be nourishing for your mind, body, spirit. Perhaps it’s gratitude, healing or positivity. Now take that essence of that energy and imagine it being embedded into what you are about to consume.

  • Blend in with nature. My friend Melissa, an animal healer, says when we sit in nature for just 15 minutes, we start to become part of the background. When that happens, the animals relax and return to their natural behaviors, meaning you have a front row seat to your very own National Geographic documentary. Use this time to breathe, meditate or simply watch the spring energy flow around you. 

Finding time each day to be present, to get back in your body, witnessing the gorgeous natural cycle of this world is one of the best things you can do for your mental and emotional health. So this Spring, I invite you to go a little slower and notice the positive ripple effects in your life.

How to Step into your Potential

“This or something better.” 


If you're familiar with manifestation concepts, you may have heard this popular expression. It essentially means, ask for what you want, but be open for other possibilities to come in. Full transparency, it’s a concept I’ve always struggled with; how you get super clear on what you want, use all the visualization and embodiment techniques to call it in, but then be completely unattached to the outcome?

Well friend, something magical has evolved in me these past few months and I can't wait to share it with you. I have found myself at the most incredible alchemy of my business, spiritual practice, and creative essence. (See more details below or click here if you can't wait). It’s something that could only have dropped in when I totally changed my internal beliefs. So of course, I had to share my insights with you asap:

  • Welcome the unknown. More than accepting that you don’t know where things will end up, embrace that as part of the journey. Lean into feelings of anticipation, excitement and gratitude, genuinely celebrating each twist and turn. It will make the ride so much sweeter and set the stage for incredible surprises. 

  • Let go of control. The more we try to tighten our grip on a situation, the more we cut off the flow of creativity, inspiration and possibility. Remember, you can handle whatever comes your way, based on your lifetime of tools, knowledge and experiences. It’s okay to let things be good without our constant worry.

  • Trust in yourself. You have access to the most amazing system for finding your way, just by listening to your intuition. Those little nudges are here to guide you, so pay attention and start building that trust muscle. If you need further evidence, keep track of all the intuitive whispers you hear and where they lead.

  • Say YES. We don’t need to make sense of or judge what lights us up. Whether it feels like the next natural step or a complete 180, if you are inspired to try a new thing, reach out and connect with someone, take a trip, read a book, DO IT! There is something for you in that experience that you could never imagine, and you will never know where that one YES will take you.

I have no doubt that you have one-of-a-kind magic, just waiting to come out. And it only takes implementing these subtle shifts to have a major impact on getting your manifestations flowing.

Balancing Your Emotions

Does it feel like your emotions are running the show? See which one of these scenarios resonates the most: a) you experience constant waves, frequently bouncing from highs to lows, with seemingly little control; b) you learned that only certain emotions are permissible, such as happiness or anger, but don’t feel entitled to express the full range of emotions; or c) you’ve worked to push your feelings aside all together, living stoically, but silently suffering on the inside.

Emotional well-being is so critical for our overall health, yet so many of us were not given the tools to understand our feelings, let alone know how to navigate them. And new research is linking stuck emotions to a host of physical symptoms, so it's more important than ever to find more balance in our emotional state.

Here is a 3-part strategy for moving through emotions with more ease:

  • Acknowledge what you are feeling. Start by being more in your body, which means it's time to stop numbing or distracting yourself from the truth. Putting a name to your emotions can go a long way towards letting them move through you.

  • Accept and Allow. There is no shame in your feelings, even if it’s something you’d rather not be experiencing. Resistance and ignoring doesn’t make them go away, rather it can create an even larger block, preventing the self-love and acceptance we require for growth. It's okay to let yourself feel.

  • Ask the emotion for information. Why is this coming up? What is its presence showing or telling you? Our triggers are here to teach us, so try to connect to the emotion more deeply and get to the root of its message.

Having emotional awareness is one of the great superpowers of being human. Making Over your Mindset

Makeover your Mindset is more than just a buzz phrase. It’s the key to unlocking all your potential happiness. Our mindset shapes our reality because we are manifesting exactly what we are thinking and believing about ourselves. If you need evidence of this, just look at your current circumstance; it's actually based on your thoughts and actions from the past day, week and/or month. 

Fortunately each new moment is a chance to change. Here are three simple ways to gain mastery over your mind:

  • Set intentions. If you don’t know what you want, how will you know when you get it? While lack of clarity is a common challenge, getting clear on your goals creates a major empowerment shift. Mantra: I confidently decide what I wish to receive.

  • Celebrate everything. Rather than glossing over your mini wins, call them out. An email reply, positive comment, completed to-do…each small achievement that supports your bigger goal deserves a victory dance. Mantra: So many good things are happening for me everyday. 

  • Give what you want to get. We can be so focused on what we don’t have that we get stuck in a loop of lack. Instead, give out exactly what you’d like to receive. If you want more abundance, be more generous. If you want stronger friendships, be a more proactive, engaged friend. Mantra: I actively create my future by showing up as my best self.

Working through Self-Doubt

Experiencing a bit of self-doubt? It can happen to anyone; that lack of confidence in who we are, in our abilities and capabilities. This negativity can often lead to a shame-spiral, that not-so-fun ride where we feel bad about feeling bad. What if rather than pushing so hard against the doubt, we accept that it’s a part of modern life and focus on learning how to move through it?

Here are four ways to navigate self-doubt:

  • Reframe. Let’s call out doubt for what it truly is: You are not seeing yourself clearly right now. Because if you saw yourself the way others did, you would know how amazing you are. How bright your light is and how much you matter in the world. When your vision gets cloudy, ask a friend or loved one to remind you of who you really are.

  • Redefine. Doubt can creep in when we don’t feel “successful”. So the more you can create a system and/or boundaries for what success looks like for you, the more in control and positive you will feel. Moving your body, getting enough sleep and water, reaching out to a friend - these all can contribute to your daily success quota.

  • Reexamine. If you want to build your self-esteem, then try pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. Consider which areas you’ve been playing it safe and make a conscious effort to expand your capacity for trial and error. No matter the actual outcome, you’ll prove to yourself that you can do more than you’ve previously imagined.

  • Recommit. You may always keep promises to others, but if you continue to flake on yourself, then you are setting the stage for self-doubt. Building internal integrity means you value and honor your commitment to yourself as much as to others. If we don’t prioritize our to-dos and hold ourselves accountable, how can we expect anyone else to do the same.

The more we can acknowledge and understand how we are feeling, the better equipped we are to meet any challenges with love and compassion. Doubt is simply showing us areas that need more attention in order to get back on track.

How to Stop Selling Yourself Short

Are you selling yourself short? While sales might not be a regular part of your life, at one point or another, the time comes to hype ourselves. Whether for a promotion at work, vying for a volunteer position or even claiming your role among friends, knowing what you are good at (and what you’re not) is as important for our personal awareness as it is for our relationships. 

So why is it so hard to own our strengths and feel comfortable pitching ourselves?

  • We don’t think they/we are valuable. It’s very common for us to question our worth when it seems like only certain talents or skills are praised in today’s society. But regardless of what (and who) seems to be the most idolized at the moment, there are endless other abilities that are essential for all aspects of our lives. The things you are good at are meaningful to more people than you know.

  • We don’t know what they are. If you grew up learning that bragging and being full of yourself were bad traits, then it’s quite possible you’ve been shutting down your skill-radar. Not wanting to call attention to your gifts undermines our ability to live authentically and feel good in our skin. It's time to recognize and celebrate your strengths and stop being worried about outshining others.

  • We think everyone can do them. Because something comes easy to you, it's natural to assume it's easy for everyone else, but that’s simply not true. We were all blessed with unique strengths that we were meant to share with the world. So lean into those do-with-your-eyes closed talents and feel empowered knowing that you are the only one with your combination of talent, experience and POV.

Who Do You Want To Be

Have you ever felt like you aren't living up to your potential? Like the real you is hidden somewhere inside, but you just don't know how to find and set them free? If so, it's time to meet the next version of you. 

One of the most powerful ways to create change in your life is to utilize Future-You Visioning. This incredible process helps you get clear on who you want to be and how you truly want to live. Once you start practicing, you will find it becomes increasingly easier to embody the energy of your ideal future self. Here’s an exercise for you to try:

Start with one change you want. It creates positive reinforcement if you can frame it as something you want more of rather than less of. So you would choose being “more confident” as opposed to being “less afraid”. Some of the things I hear most frequently are wanting to be more active, more calm/peaceful, and more productive, but choose what's most resonant with you.

Imagine yourself already existing in this new mind, body and spirit space. As your future self (who already is more confident, for example), think about how you now feel. How would you think and act as this person? What do you know to be true? How would you handle a situation that you currently find challenging?

Create a new story for yourself. Grab a journal or record a voice memo using the following prompts:

  • I am a person who feels…

  • I am a person who exudes…

  • I am a person who others see as someone who (or look to for)…

  • I am a person who fills my day doing…

  • I am a person who lives…

You can repeat this exercise daily or weekly as you start to notice major changes in how you think about yourself. Remember, when you change your thoughts, you will change your reality. Intention + Attention = Mindful Action.

Are You Keeping Yourself From Being Happy?

Are you Keeping Yourself from being Fully Happy? Spoiler Alert: I have! But I didn't fully understand how or why...until now. While I’ve always considered myself a happy, positive person, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was not fully aligning in my life. So this month I’ve spent time discovering some subconscious blocks that have been getting in the way of my full manifesting power. And tbh, my mind has been blown. 

Think this might ring true for you too? Here are some subtle signs to look out for:

  • Worst Case Scenario Planning. If you are always preparing for bad news, tempering your expectations or staying on high alert as you wait for the problems to appear, then you are keeping yourself in a state of fear and stress. While it may seem like the “safe” thing to do, you are actually attracting more of that negative energy to you, while pushing away your current joy when nothing is actually wrong (yet).

  • Trouble Envisioning the Future. If you are having a hard time mentally picturing or imagining something good that's coming up (like a vacation or promotion), then you are missing out on a key aspect of manifesting, which is to physically embody the goal feeling you want to have. When you can’t self-create the feeling of bliss or pride, it’s going to be infinitely harder to attract experiences in your life that give you that feeling.

  • Negativity Bias. If you feel called to point out or focus on the bad, even when things are going great, then you are preventing yourself from feeling all the good you can. Whether it’s fueled by subconscious self-sabotage or a misguided impression of karmic balance, placing your attention on what’s wrong rather than what’s right, means you will always find what you are looking for.

I know these are not easy things to uncover or acknowledge about ourselves. But, if I can do it, so can you. And I’m here to guide you through it.

When Things Feel Hard

It’s mid-way through January, the time many of us are struggling to stick with with those New Year’s resolutions or make progress on desired goals. If you’ve already gone off-course, it can be really frustrating and you may be telling yourself (and others) how hard it is to achieve what you want.

PSA: As soon as that story of failure or struggle gets into our minds, it sticks, and starts a cycle of thought repetition and belief. If this sounds familiar and you are tired of feeling like everything is so hard, try this exercise on finding ease. I promise it’s more simple than you think 😉.

  • Focus on what’s easy. Spend some time making a list of the things in your life that already feel easy. Make sure you include all areas such as work, home, relationships, personal growth, etc. If this in itself feels like a challenge, don’t fret. These are likely things you don’t even realize because they are so effortless, so dig a little if you are coming up empty. 

 

  • Examine what’s hard. What feels especially hard to you right now? Why specifically are those things feeling so difficult? Is it because you haven’t done them before or had proven success? Are they mostly in a specific area of life or are there other common themes that you can find? What is the story you’ve told yourself (and believe) about what you can and can’t do?

 

  • Move your mindset from expecting difficulty to allowing ease. Going back to your Easy List, consider the energy behind those things. Do they feel fun and enjoyable? Do they seem innate or intuitive, like just part of who you are? Were they once a challenge, but you committed to succeeding and now they come easily? Do you truly recognize and appreciate what’s easy or do you only feel something is valuable if it’s a struggle?


Like attracts like, so the more you focus on the idea of things being hard, the more resistance you will create. And conversely, the more you value and call in what’s easy, the easier things will become. I know it's a lot to consider, but changing your mindset on this one idea (what’s easy & what’s hard), can make a world of difference in how you experience so many aspects of your life.
