Who Do You Want To Be

Have you ever felt like you aren't living up to your potential? Like the real you is hidden somewhere inside, but you just don't know how to find and set them free? If so, it's time to meet the next version of you. 

One of the most powerful ways to create change in your life is to utilize Future-You Visioning. This incredible process helps you get clear on who you want to be and how you truly want to live. Once you start practicing, you will find it becomes increasingly easier to embody the energy of your ideal future self. Here’s an exercise for you to try:

Start with one change you want. It creates positive reinforcement if you can frame it as something you want more of rather than less of. So you would choose being “more confident” as opposed to being “less afraid”. Some of the things I hear most frequently are wanting to be more active, more calm/peaceful, and more productive, but choose what's most resonant with you.

Imagine yourself already existing in this new mind, body and spirit space. As your future self (who already is more confident, for example), think about how you now feel. How would you think and act as this person? What do you know to be true? How would you handle a situation that you currently find challenging?

Create a new story for yourself. Grab a journal or record a voice memo using the following prompts:

  • I am a person who feels…

  • I am a person who exudes…

  • I am a person who others see as someone who (or look to for)…

  • I am a person who fills my day doing…

  • I am a person who lives…

You can repeat this exercise daily or weekly as you start to notice major changes in how you think about yourself. Remember, when you change your thoughts, you will change your reality. Intention + Attention = Mindful Action.
